THE Bank Holiday weather lottery struck again with Jubilee events basking in the sunshine or sheltering from the rain depending on what day you chose.
The Diamond Discs Hit Parade was a rockin' success despite being forced into the Drill Hall from the bandstand because of torrential rain on Tuesday.
Local singers worked their way through 60 years of number one hits in front of a large, picnicking audience.
Sedbury Jubilee fete was another event forced to find cover - this time in Sedbury and Beachley village hall - when the rain hit.
Live music, a bouncy castle and a horse and carriage all had to be cancelled.
But where the sun did shine the crowds turned out in force including big events at Caldicot Castle and Chepstow rugby club.
The weather also held for the lighting of Jubilee beacons at Caldicot Castle, Chepstow rugby club, Sudbrook overlooking the Second Severn Crossing and Grey Hill Common which were followed by firework displays.
