A CONCERT by a Caldicot-based ladies' choir raised £600 for local charities.
The proceeds of the Serenata choir's Summer Serenade was split equally between the Caldicot Food Bank and the Raven House Trust which provides food and furniture for people in need.
The choir, which was started by mums at Ysgol Gymraeg y Ffin in Caldicot, performed a varied programme for a packed audience at Magor Baptist Church.
Also performing were children from Caldicot Chepstow and Wyedean secondary schools, Ysgol Gymraeg y Ffin, St John's-on-the-Hill School and Magor and Undy primary schools.
The soloists were Daisy Cooksley and Tom Carron of Caldicot School, Angharad Elson of Wyedean School, Briden Whitehead of St John's-on-the-Hill and Dylan Duffield and Jessica Whitelaw of Magor Primary.
Serenata's conductor, Fiona Bryant on the harp was joined by Jo Fenton, a teacher at Caldicot School playing the low whistle.
