THE new community hospital for the Forest of Dean will be located on a greenfield site near the bottom of Cinderford High Street, it has been announced.
The £11 million facility, that will replace the Dilke Hospital on the other side of the town and Lydney Hospital, will be built on the Collingwood Skatepark and Lower High Street Playing Fields.
Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Trust says the site was identified after a year of work with Cinderford Town Council.
A new skate park will be provided at Miner’s Field, off Barleycorn Square, to replace the existing facility at the sports field.
