AN INDEPENDENT will be on the ballot paper when the Forest of Dean goes to elect its MP on June 8.

Local businessman Julian Burrett will line up against Janet Ellard for the Lib Dems, James Greenwood for the Greens, Mark Harper

for the Conservatives, Labour’s Shaun Stammers and Eddie Warrender for UKIP.

One name that will not be on the ballot is Tim Gwilliam, who was one of four Forest of Dean district councillors who left the Labour Party just before the General Election was announced to form Forest First.

He said he does not have the resources to fight a successful election campaign.

There will be a hustings with the candidates at Wyedean School on Thursday, May 25.
