CHAXHILL'S Severn and Wye Smokery is about to be named as Britain's Best Artisan and Specialist Producer for 2012 in the Good Produce Guide.

The guide, coming out next month, will list the smokery run by second-generation Severn fisherman, Richard Cook, as a "renowned smokehouse and wet fish shop selling smoked salmon, fresh fish and seafood as well as a range of delicious west country foods."

Author of the guide, Rose Prince, food journalist for the Daily Telegraph: "Particularly admires the smokehouse's impressive sustainable efforts."
