THE organiser of the Caldicot Summer Spectacular on Bank Holiday Monday (August 29, noon-9pm) says the event is a very special one for her.
"Twenty years ago this year, I opened Hannah's Music, Chepstow, in memory of my daughter Hannah who lost her fight to Cystic Fibrosis at the age of 16," says Carol Mutlow.
"Hannah was a very talented pianist who was teaching piano at just 14, and we always talked about how much we needed a local music shop, as whenever she needed anything music related in those days, it was a tip to Newport or Cardiff.
"So after her death on May 8 1991, I knew what I had to do to give me the strength to carry on with my life. I opened Hannah's Music on September 7 later that year, and 20 years on I'm still here.
"Over the years, I have obviously had a lot to do with local bands and started putting on outdoor music events to help them showcase their talent in front of a live audience.
"This led to bigger events putting on bands such as The Stranglers, UFO, Thunder, Australian Pink Floyd, The Alarm, etc. But this year's event at Caldicot Castle will to me be the highlight of them all.
"When Hannah was alive her idol was Bon Jovi and her dream was to one day see them live. But it was not to be as, she passed away just months before their first tour of Britain.
"So to make this 20th anniversary year extra special, Caldicot Summer Spectacular on August Bank Holiday Monday will see the country's biggest Bon Jovi tribute act performing at Caldicot Castle Park. Just for Hannah The Bon Jovi Experience will be dedicating 'Livin' on a prayer' in her memory."
Carol added: "It may not be the real thing, but this one's for you sweetheart!"
There will be two stages of non stop music also featuring U2 UK, Dr and the Medics, Stoney Broke and 4th Street Traffic, plus local bands as well as a funfair, children's entertainment, gymnastics and morris dancing displays, stalls, foodcourt, and a licensed bar.
Entry on gate only – accompanied children under 5 years-old free.
