STAFF at Chepstow Leisure Centre are donning red attire this Friday (February 5) as part of a national campaign to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Wear It Beat It aims to raise awareness of heart disease while raising much-needed funds for research.
They will remember a much-loved former colleague Neil Allmark who died suddenly in January last year of a heart-related condition.
Centre manager Helen Dymond said: “Losing Neil means that we are keen to support the British Heart Foundation’s research in his memory.”
She added: “The Foundation also supplies our defibrillator and it has already been used successfully on our site.”
Customers will also be encouraged to wear red and participate in one or more of the centre’s fundraising activities. People will be invited to take part in a 15 minute exercise bike session and a quiz will be held in the evening with a maximum of 10 teams. Teams will be restricted to six members and should arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Entry forms are available from Chepstow Leisure Centre.
