OVER the years, we have had to endure a stream of negativity in your letters column from UKIP representatives in the area regarding the EU and immigration.

These letters usually take the shape of sweeping, blame game statements and populist stereotyping.

There is no longer any need for UKIP to write letters to the Review  because we already know what they are going to say as they  rarely write about anything else.

Their policies on other issues like the economy, health and education are glaringly lacking but, whatever the issue, UKIP always blames membership of the EU and  immigration for all our ills, whether it be school places, jobs  or overloaded NHS services.

With the referendum on Europe fast approaching, my fear is that debate about  wider issues will be stifled in the ever-increasing, emotive subject of immigration.

Its up to the rest of our political parties to ensure that this does not happen.
