Very many thanks to 'Hands Off Our Forest' for all their hard work in preventing the Government's attempt to sell off the Forest of Dean, but there is still so much to do.

FANS (Five Acres Not for Sale) are doing a sterling job, but I'm concerned that centring the debate on the issue of Five Acres College is shifting the focus away from wider concerns many people have, regarding the planned development of Cinderford's Northern Quarter. It's an awful proposal, which involves the destruction of a huge chunk of Statutory Forest, and we need someone to do something before it really is too late.

I do understand that there are good reasons why HOOF have previously been reluctant to get involved in this issue, but now the threat of a Forest sell-off seems to have passed, this is surely the time for them to look more closely at what's going on here. HOOF, we still need you!
