POLICE from across the border in Monmouthshire have seized computer equipment, mobile phones and laptops in a raid on a Forest address.
Officers say they carried out a search warrant at an address in Westbury-on-Severn to recover goods stolen after a spate of burglaries in Monmouth town centre at the end of 2009.
A 22-year-old man from Westbury was arrested on suspicion of burglary and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Inspector Mike Boycott, Neighbourhood Inspector for Monmouth and Abergavenny said: "This warrant was part of an ongoing operation against burglaries in the town. I want to reassure people that Monmouthshire is a safe place to live. The recovery of these stolen goods and arresting the alleged offender is part of the continuing drive to remove criminals from our streets."
The police are also appealing for information to identify the laptops – both are Fujitsu Siemens, one with a black PCL case, the other with a distinctive orange and black Canterbury case.
