We have that old "red herring" popping up yet again, councillors insisting that we must all pay for parking on council car parks.
Have they really thought it all through properly?
All three towns are struggling to survive as it is and parking charges are likely to make businesses and shopkeepers despair and maybe 'toll the death' of them all.
In all cases it means charging locals to visit the doctor and in some cases the vets.
I thought the council was trying to encourage tourists and visitors to visit the Dean, not the opposite.
Please, please do your homework. Think again! We all know that the 40p an hour soon increases year by year.
If the charges go through, are council employees going to be charged parking as well?
