A CINDERFORD student is celebrating being published in a young writers’ book.

Year Seven Forest High School pupil Naomi Niblett wrote her short ghost story, Clown House, as part of a class project.

The teacher was so impressed with her assessed piece of extended writing, that it was sent for consideration.

Head of English, Mr Griffiths said: “The idea of writing a ghostly mystery story clearly inspired Naomi, who demonstrated her skill and ability to be creative and write in a way to engage the reader.”

The 12-year-old wrote the story based on a family that moved into a new house. It centres on a girl called Elizabeth who has a clown appear in her bedroom.

Naomi said: “I am so pleased my work has been published. My mum is so proud. I really enjoy writing stories and this competition has boosted my confidence loads. I am going to see if there are anymore competitions I can enter. I would really like to be an author when I am older.”

Associate head, Mr Reynolds added: “I am delighted for Naomi, in what is a very well written creative piece of

work. I hope this provides a launch pad for

her future studies and vigour for writing.”
