Year 11 pupil Isla Kendall and Declan Needham Church, who is in Year 13, competed against more than 2,000 of the most-able science, technology, engineering and maths students from around the world. Isla and Declan now have life-long access to exclusive educational opportunities.

The pair will be mentored by academics and experts from around the globe. As part of this, both students will develop advanced research, innovation, and collaboration skills and compete in challenges sponsored by industry-leading companies.

Headteacher Nigel Griffiths commended Isla and Declan and thanked their teachers for their hard work including head of maths, Rhiannon Rainbow, who worked with Isla.

He said: “I’d also like to thank Dr Moseley, lead for A-Level mathematics, who worked with Declan in order to prepare them for this exacting selection process.”
