READERS rang in to tell the Review how they had stumbled upon a 'stunning' flower festival at Staunton Church.
And although not everyone knew about it, there were plenty of visitors who helped to swell church funds, said Rev Sarah Bick.
"It is an annual event and each year there's a diffferent theme – this time it was pop music," she said.
"There were around 20 displays, mainly from local people and groups, but some were done by people with professional flower arrangement experience," she added.
"One of them, a rainbow over the altar, was based on The Wizard of Oz and part of it was Dorothy's red shoes, made with hundreds of tiny red flowers which liked like sequins.
"On Sunday we had a Songs of Praise, with a 'top ten' of favourite hymns."
