FRIENDS, family members and well-wishers gathered at Lakers School on Sunday to pay tributes to three small souls who perished in a quarry along with their father Ceri earlier this year.

There to say goodbye to Charlie, 7, Becca, 8, and Sam, 12, was their mother Ruth Fuller of Milkwall, who joined in the release of hundreds of balloons, while school friends spoke of their recollections of each of the youngsters.

The ceremony had been arranged by Sam's Lakers School pals Estelle Mundy, 13, Jack Cook, 12, and Tyree Browne, 13, who spoke about the times they had shared with "so many good memories".

Ruth Fuller paid her own touching tribute to her children which was read out by her sister Jo: "You shared so much joy and inspired so much love. I'm so proud of you kids and I love you something silly.

"They may only have had a short time, but each of them embraced an abundance of life."

A stone memorial bearing pictures of the three children was unveiled in the school gardens.
