THREE boys from Drybrook are upset after their pet dwarf lop-ear bunny called Susie went missing – believed stolen – from her garden hutch.
Adam, 12, Todd, 7, and Owain Meek, 6, are heartbroken and would dearly like to have her back – especially as she is expecting a family very shortly.
"The trouble is if she is stressed by being in a strange place she may destroy the babies instead of looking after them," said mum Luisa Meek. "I am very worried about her.
"I think she was stolen because she has very unusual markings. I have heard that other rabbits have also been taken in this area, so somebody must have her.
"If they tried to sell her she would be instantly recognised. We have two other rabbits, both males, which would be difficult to steal because they are strong and would fight but with Susie they would only have to pick her up.
"The younger boys are especially upset because they do not understand that anybody could do such a thing.
"I have been to the police and they say they will ask around about her, and the pet shops are also going to keep an eye open.
"But I would like anybody who has her just to bring her back so that she can have her family and bring them up in peace."
Susie, who has been part of the Meek family for two and a half years, has shortish floppy ears and has a grey and white coat.
