ON behalf of all the members of RAPID UK, especially Parth Pradnip Joshi and his father, I would be grateful if you could thank your readers for their very generous donations and letters of support to our Appeal. The Appeal has raised so far £12,000.
The response has been overwhelming by local people. We have attempted to thank personally as many people as possible and I apologise to those who have not received a response. We have also had many very generous donations anonymously – a special thank you to those people.
Parth is recovering very well from his traumatic rescue from the earthquake in India and although he is now out of hospital he has been receiving treatment for other injuries sustained, apart from the loss of a limb.
We are in communication with Parth's father with regard to arranging a date for his first visit to the UK for the fitting of a new limb. Hopefully, visas and passports will be obtained very shortly, with arrival in the UK possibly towards the end of May. – Graham Payne, director, RAPID UK.
