MY most sincere gratitude to everyone for all their help and support with the coffee morning in aid of MS held on April 25.
Having MS myself I rely a lot on the MS Society for information, keeping up to date with their research into finding a cure, as well as meeting and chatting to others with MS. The MS Society is also there should I need someone to talk to, especially during the low times.
A few months ago I was packing up some things to take to a charity shop when I thought 'Why don't I do something, in return, for the MS Society?'
So that's what I did. I held a coffee morning, with local supermarkets providing the coffee, milk, tea etc. There was also a cake sale, all cakes baked by family and friends, a tombola with all the prizes donated by local businesses and a jumble sale.
Lots of people came and the morning was a real success. With the leftover jumble my cousin and I went on to raise more money by going to Coleford car boot sale.
The response and help I received from everyone was very overwhelming and I'm very touched by you all.
With both the coffee morning and the car boot sale £525.48 has been raised.
There are too many people to mention individually so I would like to say a huge thank you to my family and friends, everyone for baking cakes, all the businesses for donating prizes, and a special thanks to everyone for coming and showing your support. – Donna Simpson, Lydney.
