Thank you to all those who turned out to vote on June 4.  And a huge thank you to the thousands that voted Green.

In divisions where we had not stood before, we were level-pegging with and beating both Labour and Lib Dem candidates.

 But with the 'first-past-the-post' system that we have at the moment, the Tories will totally dominate the county council – and what worries us is that they will descend into the absurd inactivity, bickering and infight­ing that the Tories have engaged in at the district council. 

Our job now is to hold them to account, whilst continuing to demand:

•a massive expansion of the Dilke within the Forest

•sorting out the A40/A48-M5 road freight problem

•binning the white elephant single incinerator

•a much, much, much more efficient transport system.
