I AM researching the history of the Beadles family and wondered if any of your readers could assist? In particular I would like to find any information on Charles Fowler Beadles who lived in Mitcheldean in the nineteenth century. There are records relating to him living their in 1830.
In addition in 1976 John Nathaniel Beadles was living at the Bachelor's House which I assume was also in Mitcheldean. The Beadles family were related by marriage to the Abell family and Oliver Beadles married Eliza Wilton Abell in Mitcheldean in 1961. This marriage produced four daughters: Agnes, Gertrude, Gwendoline and Jessie.
If anyone has any information about the family – where they lived, anecdotes, photographs – I would be very interested! There were branches of the same family in Malmesbury and Broadway in addition to the original Welsh contingent from Pontypool. – F. S. Green, Yew Tree Cottage, Newcastle, Monmouth, NP25 5NT.
