POLICE made four more arrests in Cinderford last week as they stepped up their action to stamp on drug abuse in and round the town.
Acting on warrants issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act, local officers were joined by police officers from Gloucester and the Gemini squad in a raid on a house in Cinderford on Thursday. Two arrests were made and a quantity of heroin recovered.
There was a further raid on another house on Friday. Two more arrests were made after police said they found cannabis, heroin and another substance still to be identified.
Inspector David Pickstock urged local people to keep sending in information.
"It is important we keep up the momentum. We have said we intend to make it very difficult for drug dealers and we mean to carry that out. The more we learn the more we have to act on," he said.
He stressed that investigations were continuing on other information received.
"Obviously people will understand there are instances in which we need to establish further facts, but I can assure everyone who has contacted us that we are dealing with the information we have been given," he said.
