I AM a weary commuter who travels by Stagecoach. Oh great, we are going to have a posh bus station and, of course, it will create one or two jobs. What do we really want?

Buses  that run on time, do not breakdown and are not overcrowded.

Since the move to Ross depot on March 4, my day is 20 minutes longer, and I have come home on a single decker instead of the usual double decker with passengers having to stand from Gloucester to Lydney for the last three days.

Other passengers have complained that their bus has broken down.

In general I realise that the 23 will not run if we have severe weather conditions in the winter. The 73 when it ran from Gloucester to Lydney was the only bus that ran into the Forest in the really bad weather over the past couple of winters. I see no improvement in transport coming from a building.

What is needed is investment in vehicles and drivers. I feel sorry for the poor drivers who have to put up with vehicles that are not suitable for the route. They have to face us, the public.

Tonight's journey reminded me of programmes about Third World countries with people crowded on buses. How close are we and does anyone care?
