A £3.5 million rebuild of Thornwell Primary School has been approved by Monmouthshire councillors.

The council has agreed that the buildings damaged in a huge fire in June last year should be replaced to current standards.

There have been negotiations with the council's insurers who wanted to settle on a "like-for-like" basis as if the buildings would be replaced to 1970s standards.
