THREE men were arrested and will appear in court in February following an assault in Coleford on Boxing day in which a man was badly hurt.

Police in Coleford are appealing for witnesses following the incident in Market Place between 11.15pm and 11.30pm on Monday, December 26. 

The 47-year-old victim, from Lydbrook, became involved in an argument with another man. A short time later he was assaulted and suffered a laceration to the back of his head that needed treatment at Frenchay Hospital. He was later discharged. 

Any witnesses to the incident, or anyone with information, is asked call Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 376 of December 26.

Two 20 year-old men from Coleford were later arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and a 31-year-old man from Ruardean was arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident.

They have all been bailed to attend Gloucester Police Station on February 27.
