I SEE that genetic modification rears its head again. This time it is "three-parent children".

I know that is a serious subject but I really do wish that they could modify the brains of politicians. In a recent statement David Cameron said: "We recognise Tibet as part of China. We do not support Tibetan independence and we respect China's sovereignty."

It's a disgrace that China does not respect Tibet's sovereignty. Tibet was invaded by China in 1950 and their "spiritual leader" had to leave his own country as a very young Dalai Lama in 1959 as did many other Tibetans in order to retain their religious freedoms.

Prison camps were set up and torture was commonplace. To this day Tibetan monks set fire to themselves, facing a painful death, to protest over Chinese attempts to force Tibetan monks to denounce their religious beliefs. The story of Tibet is a long and bloody one.

When did the EU demand human rights for Tibetans? Never, because trade and money are more important. If there had been oil reserves in Tibet the USA would have intervened just for the money.

David Cameron increases overseas aid payments to corrupt governments but nothing for starving Tibetans. We should export Cameron and the EU Commissioners to China.
