BATTLING against injuries to round up a full squad, Tidenham came away from a mid-table clash with Soudley with a two all draw.

In the first half a professional-looking Soudley side had the lion's share of the play, attacking the Tidenham goal at will.

Matt O'Leary in the Tidenham goal made some good saves, but under extreme pressure the home side finally succumbed.

Rob Adams swerved round the keeper on a run from just outside the penalty area to put Soudley ahead.

With a second goal from Paul Johnson, Soudley seemed to be finishing their last match of the season with a win, but with their backs against the wall Tidenham clawed back two goals to earn an unexpected draw.

Tidenham manager Haydn Bynon said: "Ten minutes into the second half our captain was sent off and we were down to ten players. That seemed to spur us on more than Soudley thought we could."

They played three at the back and the centre half pushed forward to score a goal with 10 minutes to go. A free kick with one minute to go from reserve Stewart Hole saved the day.

Bynon added: "I'm quite pleased with the result because we have had a lot of long term injuries recently and have been struggling to get a side up at the moment.

"We have two more games this season against Winchcombe and Harrow Hill and are about ninth in the table at the moment. If we had a full team we would be quite confident about beating them, but as it is it might be more challenging."

Tidenham are looking for competent players for next season to fill in for long term injuries. Contact Haydn Bynon on 01291 629277 for details.
