IF I may, I would like to use your columns to say thank-you from the bottom of my heart to all of the loyal customers who have given their unstinting support to Susan and I, of Maypole Dairy, for the past 40 years.

During that time, we have endured many trials and tribulations but the constancy of our customers has remained strong, thereby helping us to continue in good spirit. The last two winters have been very arduous but throughout them both, as in others before them, we have never left our customers in need, often at our expense or our own health.

The time has come for us to take some time for ourselves and our family. We want to enjoy our beloved grandchildren more than we are able to do at present – but will from September 28.

Our best wishes go to our successors and our loyal customers will always be special to us, many of whom became our friends.
