Further to a letter from a Bream resident in regard to dog excretia, – many responsible dog owners walk their dogs in the area between Hang Hill Road and Woodland Road cul de sac in Bream, (where they can then access the woods down to the Flour Mill) but it would appear there is someone who does not understand the simple "pick up the poop" advice.

It would seem obvious to "scoop the poop" and take the bag home to dispose of it if there is no specific poop bin provided (I haven't seen any in Bream?) but there is a dog walker who collects the offending material and then throws the polythene bags onto the ground and into the blackberry bushes. I cannot understand why this person does not look at the bags hanging there from their previous occasions and feel shame and revulsion.

The sun shines through the bags making their contents patently obvious.  The polythene bags take (it has been estimated) hundreds of years to decompose, but they will split and spill their vile contents over the blackberry bushes, those same bushes that innocent people come to for blackberries in the autumn. It really does not bear thinking about!

In this case, unless the excreta is on the road or pavement it would break down much quicker if left on the ground, without littering the area with polythene rubbish.  It would also be pleasant if those owners who's dogs have pooped in the middle of main paths just got a stick and brush it away to prevent those following stepping into it.

It is all so easy to do, but it would appear very difficult for some people to be considerate of others. – Bream resident and responsible dog owner.
