THEY may have missed out on the RIBA Stirling Prize but the ‘Outhouse’, featured in last week’s Review, won the People’s Choice vote.

The extraordinary new-build in Brockweir narrowly missed out winning the most prestigious accolade in British architecture, yet hours before a poll revealed 31 per cent of readers voted it as its ‘favourite new British building’, compared to six percent for the Stirling Prize winner Newport Street Gallery in London.

The poll has no bearing on the RIBA Stirling Prize itself, which is decided by a panel of judges.

For the full story of the ‘Outhouse’ and how it came to fruition, see next week’s Review.
