FOREST soldier Thomas Annetts will be watched by millions as he proudly takes his place as part of the Royal Escort following the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex, on Saturday.

The 21-year-old lance corporal will be one of the mounted escorts acconpying the carriage following the wedding at Windsor. Parents Karen and David Annetts, of Raglan Gardens, Lydney, are due to attend another wedding in the north of England but will be desperate to find a seat alongside a television along the way.

“It’s a great day for us all and everyone in the family is excited,” said Karen.

A former pupil at Sedbury’s Wyedean School, Thomas did his initial training at college in Harrogate and is now part of the Blues and Royals at Knightsbridge. Thomas has played roles in the famous Musical Ride and the Queen’s Birthday parade.
