ARTWORK by teenage artists is set to help patients with dementia at a local hospital.

The Year Eight students at Wyedean School in Sedbury responded to a call by staff at Chepstow Community Hospital for a ‘sensory artwork’ for people with dementia.

They showed their progress to hospital staff at the school’s “creativity evening” which was held last Wednesday (July 19).

The picture was inspired by the River Wye, Chepstow Castle and surrounding landscape and also features jigsaw-style pieces that can be moved and stuck on.

The hospital’s service improvement manager, Katie Molumby, said: “We’re really impressed because it will improve our patients’ experience – it is nice for them to be able to go along the corridor and have things to touch.”
