May I inform motorists and pedestrians alike that the raised, brick-paved, areas of the road that are either side of the Clock Tower, Lloyds Bank and Mushet Walk and in two locations in High Street, Coleford are to control traffic speed and are not pedestrian crossings.
Motorists stopping at these areas are putting their vehicles at risk of being hit from behind by others not expecting them to stop for no reason and pedestrians should not expect motors to allow them to cross at these points by just stepping into the road.
More often than not the main 'offenders' are the elderly and mothers with pushchairs. Please use proper crossings.
