AS you know there has been a very long discussion ongoing between the Two Rivers Housing and some local residents regarding estate maintenance charges.

The final decision of the court is yet to be made in favour of either party yet Two Rivers are again sending out invoices, and making suggestions of taking people to court for non payment.

It seems very sad that a lot of our older residents, some friends and family are being treated like, as this will make some of them poorly with the worry over how to meet the new cost.

I have written to Two Rivers on a number of occasions and the last letter I received tells me that Two Rivers are not yet sure if they can go ahead with this charge.

In the letter it is stated that it is only a belief by Two?Rivers at this time that the conveyance or deeds to our property may allow them to make a charge, and again that the legal advice they received leads them to believe they have the right to charge. Why would they send invoices out suggesting debt recovery through court if they are still unsure?

I have the letter which I refer to if it can be of any use to anyone fighting the costs at present, and ask if there is any way you may be able to help the estate committee. – Harry Fletcher, Broadwell.
