I?READ with interest your article regarding Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) on his visit to Lydney. He was absolutely marvellous and I am sure everyone in the hall thought the same. The hall was packed and a larger hall would have been better.
There was one person who shouted out when Nigel was in the middle of his speech but Nigel Farage handled this very professionally and told him he would give him the first option to speak after he had finished – which he did.
I felt very embarrassed that this person had given a very wrong impression of the Forest of Dean people and felt ashamed to be a Forester due to this person's behaviour.
I did not know a lot about UKIP and that is why I went to this meeting to meet Nigel Farage. I was very impressed and feel sure he is a person I could trust. I wish UKIP every success and hope that the Forest of Dean people will give then a chance. The other parties say they will do something but when they get into power forget what they have promised.
Having been a personnel manager for many years and having interviewed thousands of people I feel, because of my success, I have the ability to assess Nigel Farage. I would give him the job.
Good luck UKIP may you succeed.
