In his letter to you last week, Mr Leppington would have us believe that the whole populations of Romania and Bulgaria are to migrate to these shores in 2014, leaving their countries deserted. What nonsense.

It really is time UKIP stopped resorting to such scare tactics if the people of this country are to have a serious debate about immigration before the next election.

He also maintains that most immigrants to this country are unskilled. Try telling that to Londoners, where they say you cannot get a plumber, electrician or carpenter unless they are Polish workers who were brought here to fill a skills gap, created by the scrapping of British apprenticeships in the 80s and 90s.

The young people of this country have been encouraged to stay on in school and attend college by successive governments, only to end up unemployed, because they have the wrong skills.

At least this coalition is finally trying to do something about it in encouraging companies to bring back apprenticeships. So Mr Leppington, can you please tell the British electorate what else UKIP would do to create jobs for youngsters, other than curb immigration.
