IN response to the letter concerning UKIP by Owen Adams of Ruardean. I'm sure most of the letter is in fact true but I would like to point out a few issues that this letter raises.

Firstly the so-called Government cut backs of £114 million – maybe the reason for this is largely due to the previous Government borrowing and spending money that we could not afford. Also a large portion of that money goes to the already massive increase to immigration in this country that occurred under the previous Labour Government and that's a fact. Trying to meet costs of interpreters, education, medical, dental, housing and welfare payments have taken their toll. That coupled with the banking crisis has left this country on a knife edge financially and who assisted in that banking crisis, maybe Gordon Brown when he relaxed the rules governing the financial regulators?

Then you have this present Government who are going to allow maybe hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Bulgaria and Romania to travel to the UK where once again the British tax payer will have to foot the welfare bill and you have to ask why do they head for the UK? Answer because we have the best welfare package of the whole of the European Union but we simply cannot afford it.

Maybe people will think me racist but I tend to think of myself as being British and want to protect the British way of life. Now if these people need help then maybe we can help them to build a better life in their own country and not increase the population of the UK any further?

So should it be UKIP, Labour or Conservative or maybe the Lib Dems. Well for me all the other parties have mostly had a go and its through them that we find ourselves in this current situation so maybe, just maybe we should give UKIP a chance. What have we got to lose?
