CALLING local ornithologists. Can anyone explain why small birds have vanished from my garden this year?

Normally I have to top up the bird feeder at least twice a week in summer, but this year not at all!

I have daily visits from a pigeon, there is an occasional blackbird or crow, but no small birds at all.

Puzzling.
