The dust has now settled on the election and I would like to thank the people of Tidenham who voted, in particular the 932 who voted for me.

The turnout across the Forest was less than average, and in some places disappointing. In a democracy it is a privilege to vote and high voting turnouts support the principles of democracy.

In many countries the people have no opportunity to vote, and we see continuing conflicts in such countries. It is well to remember this.
