A 999 call was made to the coastguard after two people were spotted on a sandbank at Lydney as the tide came in.

A team from the Chepstow Coastguard was sent to Sanigar Sands following the emergency call to the Swansea Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre last Friday (December 28) at 5pm.

By the time they reached the scene the two people and their dog had made their way back to the Lydney Yacht Club slipway where they were given safety advice.
