YET again, your 'caring, sharing' Co-op has shown how much it really does care in trying to keep its monopoly in Cinderford by its efforts to block Asda coming to the town.

The Co-op is determined to keep its death grip on the town no matter what the implications for employment and regeneration.

We are known as the 'Heart of the Forest' but if the Co-op is not stopped from impeding any sort of progress, the heart is going to stop beating very soon.

I, and many people I have spoken to, do not do our main shopping in Cinderford, so any other purchases are made in Gloucester or Ross as well. I would love to have a local supermarket that offers value for money and to do the rest of my shopping in Cinderford.

Maybe it needs a total boycott of the Co-op to make them realise we will not be dictated to by a company that masquerades as good for the community when it is doing it's level best to restrict our choices and a chance for Cinderford to live up to its name of the capital of the Forest.
