IT looks almost certain that Lydney boxer Chris Higgs will be breaking onto the TV with a slot on Sky TV's popular Prize Fighter.

The news comes after another win for Higgs at the Chippenham Olympiad when he won on points against the experienced Jason Nesbit.

The win was a close one, 39 to 38, which surprised dad, Bryan.

"It was a close run thing, but we were quite shocked that it was that close. We thought Chris had won pretty much every round.

"He boxed really well. In fact I'd say the best I've ever seen him box."

If Higgs is chosen for Prize Fighter it will be on February 11 at Wolverhampton and he'll need to lose a few pounds from 10st 6 to 10st 2.
