I WRITE to congratulate Owen Adams for the brilliant letters he has written to you recently. He has put into words the concerns, that many people have, about the rise of the extreme right wing UKIP party. Its refreshing to hear that there are more liberated points of view in the area, other than the usual "anti-everything" vitriol that we get from Messers Reeve and Leppington.

UKIP have shown themselves nationally, to have a policy vacuum, even party treasurer Stuart Wheeler advocates buying policy from right wing think tanks.

It follows that one would expect them to do better in local elections (where issues are more parochial) than in national polls, where a manifesto is essential, and the electorate more discerning.

In the meantime, I request that Owen keeps putting his views in print, if only to instruct the rest of us in the finer points of putting our opinions across.
