I have been reading letters regularly on wild boar and have great concern in the number present at Wenchford picnic area.

Having read the recent article regarding Soudley School and their concern over 'wellie walks' with young children it is appropriate that the same caution should be applied to schools contemplating field trips to Wenchford.

Do schools carry out risk assessment on field trips to an area known to be a foraging area for animals classified as dangerous?

It is acknowledged that any animal can be unpredictable so it cannot taken for granted that if a person comes across them accidentally that the boar will just walk away. Let's hope we do not become the first area in this country where a person gets harmed when they are out on a trip which was meant to be enjoyable.
