I feel compelled to respond to Dr David Garnett's article in last week's Review.
As chair of the Two Rivers board does he not communicate with Garry King and Co?
One would assume not or he would know that after a board meeting with the fighting committee on July 29, 2008, we attended the full council meeting at Coleford on July 31, 2008 at which we had questions in public time and where we appealed to the council to take on the cost of cutting the grass. We also raised questions with the then chief executive of council, Tim Perrin, as to why homeowners did not get a chance to vote?
The evening went from bad to worse. Cllr Bruce Hogan proposed a motion for the council to become involved and help solve the issues then, before any vote could take place, the district council member of the Two Rivers board, Cllr Dennis Riley, proposed an amendment, that in a nutshell, the council just continued to monitor the situation. Which won the majority vote!
So, Dr Garnett, if you believe (like the rest of us) the council should do this service under the umbrella of council tax "go fish" because we have already tried and failed!
