I REALLY feel for the people who put money in their icebucket then sold it.

I recently lost about the same amount in an equally unfocused moment. We were off on holiday, so to be safe I put our 'emergency' home money, £900 in all, in a very safe place, at the bottom of our oven under a pan, as "no-one will ever find it there."

No-one did, nor did my memory when we came back. Until we had roasted chicken. Alerted by excessive black smoke, I investigated and found our crisped up stash.

£400 in the middle was all that could saved. After some weeks of rigorous self-chastisement, all I can do and say to the ice-bucket people is "learn by your mistake."

I now put the money in a non combustible place. – Anon.
