I'M writing in response to the letter headed "Be consistent," regarding incidents in Lydney Park and Primrose Hill.
I can understand the mum's frustration at the police attitude. I have had to put up with harassment from mindless yobs who think they are above the law.
From early evening until well past midnight every night all they do is race up and down Hams Road at great speed, doing handbrake turns in Somerfield's car park and dumping endless litter in James Bevan's bus park.
Do they get cautioned or fined? No such luck as there is not a policeman to be seen at this time of night.
I thought there were laws protecting us from such noise.
We should have our own police station re-opened and a lot of this nonsense would stop. I pay council tax part of which goes to the police, but why?
We never see any here, certainly not between 7pm and midnight when these incidents take place.
My age group respected the police, and would have been too scared to do anything wrong, for fear of our parents.
But today we are breeding a bunch of wimps, who, if told off run crying to their parents, or have them for assault.
It did us no harm to get a clip round the ear. That's what is lacking these days – common decency and respect. – Frustrated resident, Tutnalls Street, Lydney.
