ALL Saints' Church in Blakeney was recently filled with wedding attire – but there was no sign of a bride or groom.
Instead the outfits were being modelled on mannequins as part of an exhibition of bridal wear and celebration of marriage through the years.
The bridal showcase attracted many visitors, so much so that more than £500 was raised for the church. A dress more than 60 years old took the limelight and the rest of the dresses were displayed around the church with a "mock" modern day marriage at the chancel steps – vicar included!
Vicar Rev Dr Rob James said: "It was a fabulous display and brought people from the community and surrounding areas together. The displays were dispersed with some beautiful floral arrangements and was a credit to all those who displayed their dresses and arranged such a lovely celebratory event at All Saints'.
"Being the 'relatively new' vicar of the parish it was great to see such a successful event and was a wonderful opportunity to meet and get to know yet more new faces from within my parish. My thanks to all who participated, helped and supported and especially to Winnie (churchwarden) and Veronica for their organisational skills."
