WHITECLIFFE Furnace, near Coleford, remains on the latest English Heritage 'at risk' register for South West buildings.

 The furnace is a scheduled monument telling the story of the iron industry's development during the 19th century.

Its condition has been deteriorating, comments English Heritage, but it is hoped that repairs to make the structure safe will be carried out in the near future.
