•Easily recognised as the former Severn Bridge Hotel at Purton this is a rare postcard image obviously taken from a boat or sandbank in the centre of the river. Posted in 1910, the card was actually sent from the hotel. The message reads: "Dear Sir, Will you come up Tuesday morning to kill a pig." It was sent to Mr Jones, Butcher, Blakeney. The card is from the Roy Close collection.
