I HESITATE to criticise what Dr Daphne wrote last week because I admire her diligence in watching what our councillors do.
But surely Doctor, when the council give a figure of how much it costs to maintain the car parks, doesn't that ring alarm bells in your mind? A bit of flat ground with a bit of tarmac costing that much each year?
So councillors vote to spend a huge amount of money on an 'expert' review.
Whose kidding who? Especially when the expert's report contains so many flaws, obvious to the most casual reader.
Mitcheldean comparable with Ledbury, come on! So the council wants money but can't raise the council tax. Why don't they look to see how they can save money first?
And why, Dr Daphne, do you not suggest to the councillors where they can save money; and if they will not listen then write as you regularly do to the Review and embarrass them. You speak as if the cabinet is carefully looking into respective spheres, but don't you see they have tunnel vision and cannot see beyond what they control? You must see when you attend council premises how money is wasted.
Why is it when a large group get together they can obtain a discount and yet when the council, who represent a huge community, regularly pay top prices for everything.
Come on Doctor. the sums for the car parking don't add up. Please don't go down with those proposing the charges. You are too valuable.
